In order to help generate some content for our friends at Artisanal Digital, we hired out a Sony NEX-FS700 with EF Metabones adapter and had a bit of fun with slow motion. Particles, water, smoke, sparks: we made a complete mess but hopefully got some good content for the free stock site. Chris from Cybertrix media was on hand to help out with the (somewhat) controlled chaos.
Detail from Artisanal Digital’s about us page:
“Colleagues and I have worked in the education sector teaching classes directly related to, or incorpating video for 10 years now. We also do commercial work with video. While we generally like to go out and shoot fresh footage every time, there are instances where stock video is required due to a quick turnaround time on the edit, or it’s not possible for whatever reason to shoot the footage we need. Watching students and other colleagues work, we have found that they often face the same issues.
Plenty of stock sites already exist, so why bother with a new one? We found that most sites are either two expensive (remember we’re focussing on students and non-profits here), or make it too much of a hassle to access material. Thus we set up this site to try and fill that gap.
We are hoping to get together a collection of material that is useful and of reasonable quality. This is primarily a side project, so this may take some time, however we feel it could be a useful resource for students all around the world (and anyone else who’d like to use the material).”
